6th grade artists have created some excellent metal repoussé masks.
They began by drawing a design for their mask on paper and then tranferred the design to the metal.
Next they tooled the metal on both sides to create texture and a 3D effect.
When they finished tooling, they cut out their mask with scissors.
The following step was to add color with sharpies or to add a patina with india ink. Some of our artists did both
